Flashback Friday

These are from one of the last games played at the old Busch Stadium. My work payed for us all to go, it was our company picnic, unfortunately it also ended up being our last company picnic too.

We are done with baseball and softball for the season. The boy's team finished in 2nd place and they really enjoyed playing. They are looking forward to next year. Sierra had a great time and learned a lot, she is also looking forward to playing next year and although her team didn't win a single game, she wants to be on the same team next year. They almost won their last game on Wednesday, and they probably would have if the other team hadn't switched pitchers halfway through the last inning. Everyone on her team was new to the sport and they played teams that had been together for years. They had amazing spirit and had showed great sportsmanship. It was not uncommon for them to cheer for players on the opposing team when they did something good. Her team was an inspiration to me. They are an amazing group of girls, and I am glad I got to know them.

New toys

We are really excited about vacation, and Steve is looking forward to taking the motorcycle to cruise through the Smokeys. He has been riding the motorcycle to work to help cut down on gas costs. Since he has been riding it more, we got him some new toys for it, and now it is going to be even better for our trip. He now has a new seat and windsheild...and let me tell you, the seat was well worth the money. I can comfortably ride on the back, and I don't end up walking like a penguin for hours after I get off of it!

Memories...

I am just doing what I am told...although there are very few that even look at my blog, but here goes...

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

Major League

Wild Thing...I think I love you!!

Austin has really gotten into this baseball thing, and since it is summertime and they are outta school, we let him get the mohawk he wanted. He got his hair cut on a Thursday and we were honestly only gonna let him keep it until Saturday night. We didn't want him to go to church with a mohawk. Well, we ended up going to visit with Steve's grandparents on Saturday (so mawma could cook the frog legs so I wouldn't have to)and we stayed pretty late. It was way past bed time when we got home and we slept too late Sunday morning to cut 'the hawk' so he got to keep it.

Tuesday night's game was his best game yet! Now Tyler wants a lucky mohawk!!

Flashback Friday

Sorry Allyson, I don't mean to steal your idea, but I came across the cutest picture and just had to share it, and since it is Friday, it just fits

I just love this picture of Reagan, she absolutely loves to pose for the camera. This was taken at dad's house Christmas a few years back. Every time she saw the camera, she would stop and 'strike a pose'

Just a thought

Well, I had this idea in my head that I was gonna be better at posting regularly, and it has been a few days so I figured I should come up with something. Unfortunately, I am not very creative, so here you go.

Steve and I just went for a ride on the motorcycle and once again it got me thinking I want to learn to ride, so....then I chickened out again. I keep telling myself that I am perfectly content to just ride on the back of his, and then I see the neighbor kids out on their dirt bikes doing stunts and everything. I mean, if they can do it so can I right? I just need to find an indestructible bubble that I can learn in so I don't get hurt, because I am just a big wimp.

I have spent most of the last week thinking about our upcoming vacation. I am so excited!! I keep thinking about things to see and do. Most of it comes back to thinking *I don't have to work for a whole week!!*

I have decided we are gonna visit the Bubba Gump resteraunt in Gatlinburg. Forrest Gump is one of Steve's all-time favorite movies. Did you know he can recite it almost word for word? Every time it comes on tv he stops to watch it. That and Shawshank Redemption, which he doesn't know word for word, but still loves to watch.

Do you dislike telemarketers as much as me?

Ok, I know they are just doing their jobs, but sometimes they can be so darn pushy and they almost always call when we are trying to get out the door, or just sitting down for dinner. Why is that? Do they have cameras on every house in America or what? I know that there are satellites everywhere that can do pretty amazing things, but come on!! This guy is fabulous!!! He has come up with the best way EVER to deal with telemarketers!!! I should warn you he does cuss a little bit in the video. He has a show on CMT called Mabe in America. Some of the stuff he comes up with...

My latest project

We had some friends get married and I wanted to make a really special gift for them, so I used their invitation to make a couple of scrapbook pages...then I took it a step further. I couldn't figure out a good way to wrap them, so I thought I would sandwich them between two peices of chipboard. Well, that got me thinking, and this is what I came up with.

The wedding colors were orange and green, and it was a BEAUTIFUL wedding and they couldn't have asked for better weather!! Have you noticed I mention nice weather a lot...I live in Missouri, I have my reasons

Sierra's team

These girls amaze me! They are such a fun group, and have the BEST attitudes!!! Just thought I would share. Sierra plays shortstop. These girls are all new to softball, and have been playing against teams that have been together for years. Most people would be discouraged by that, but not them, they have given their all every game and have had a blast with it!! No matter how the game is going, they keep cheering each other on! I am glad Sierra got on this team.

Frog legs anyone?

Wow, what a busy week! I took a couple of days vacation to make this a long weekend, and it still wasn't long enough! I had Wednesday off and did a whole lot of nothing!! Ok, not totally true, I did manage to get the house cleaned up, and i know there is more, but that was days ago, so I don't remember. Thursday I got to spend the whole day with Dad and Uncle Bob. We went to get some stuff for Uncle Bob to move him into his new apartment. Yep, we got Bob into a really nice apartment. It is in a retirement community, so the staff there is great and helping him get everything he needs. He has made some new friends and he really seems to like it there.

Friday, Steve and I took the kids for a bike ride on the Katy Trail, the weather was perfect (76 degrees and breezy) We rode from Weldon Springs to Defiance and back for a total of @12 miles!! Everyone was worn out(except Steve, he was just getting warmed up) When we got home, we picked green beans from our garden and had them with dinner, we barbecued, but the beans were the best part of dinner, not because the rest wasn't good, just because we had grown them ourselves. Friday night was of course, time for fireworks. We went to town to watch an always spectacular fireworks display. We have decided that next year, we are gonna take the kids to Frontier Park in St. Charles to see the up close and hopefully enjoy them as much as I did when I was a kid. After fireworks, Steve took us for our first ever frog hunting experience. Yes we do plan on eating them. Steve and his grandpa used to go frog hunting together all the time and I think it really meant a lot to him to be able to take the kids to do it. We had a great time, until our big flashlight died on us...imagine walking through the woods in the middle of the night with very little light and one kid afraid of the dark...we all survived and Tyler managed to get the only frog of the night! It was awesome!!

We were walking along the edge of the pond, and I was in the back of the pack. Apparently I am not very good at walking in the dark, because everyone else managed to make it across the log that I never even saw!! Fortunately, I didn't get hurt. Unfortunately, I sank up to my knee in muddy nasty water!!! I wish I could have seen my face, I imagine it was pretty hysterical, the kids sure got a kick out of it! Steve and the kids are back out tonight to try to get more. I would have loved to go, but I have to work in the morning, so I am here....all alone....enjoying the peace and quiet....I think I will go to bed
