It's official!

I am now a StampinUp demonstrator!! I have been considering it for quite some time now, but just never wanted to spend the money on it. Since May is National Scrapbooking month, they offered a deal I could not pass up. They have a Scrap specific starter kit for just $75 and it was all stuff I would buy anyway at less than retail so it seemed like a no-brainer! So if any of you are interested in hosting a workshop for me or just placing an order, let me know. I can have everything you order sent right to your door :) My goal is to have my first workshop held by June 15th. If anyone would like to browse through a catalog they are available online at StampinUp.com

Right now they are offering a buy3 get one free deal on all paper packs!!

FCCLA Officer installation Banquet

Sierra has been in FCCLA for this school year and has really enjoyed it. She has gone on a trip for a conference and she's worked concession stands at the high school, and she has gone to the elementary schools to read to the younger kids, just to name a few of the things. Well, next year is gonna be a little more busy for her. She was chosen to be the Secretary for the Middle School FCCLA chapter. These are just a couple of the pics we took at the installation banquet.

Has it really been that long?

Wow, sorry. I was even off work too...

So I am back at work now and I am also working on a new hobby. Yeah, I am still doing all of my scrapbooking and loving every bit of it. In fact, I managed to get 14 pages done Saturday while Steve had the kids out with him for a day of fun. It was nice and relaxing and let's face it, we all need our own "me" time to relax. So anyway, I have been taking a ton of pictures lately and have really had a lot of fun with it. I took pictures of Samantha for Felicia, and came up with some really great ones. People thought they were done professionally. Felicia suggested that i should do photography for a living. That got me thinking. I have always liked it, and I have gotten pretty good at it, but I am no pro...

HOWEVER, I have taken some free online mini classes and I have been learning a little from a lady at church, and I just got my first actual job with it. Ok, not really a job I guess, it is only one day, but it could lead to more if I do good enough. I will still have to keep my day job, but at least I will get to have some fun with this one :)

So, anyway, here are a few pics I have taken of the kids and one of Samantha. There are so many of them that I just LOVE, that it was hard to narrow down, but here ya go! I still have a lot of learning to do, but eventually I'll get it all figured out.

Science fair fun

Ok, so call us procrastinators. I admit it, when it comes to things that just have to be done, I tend to wait until the last minute. Sometimes it works out great and sometimes not so great. So here it is...Tyler has a science fair project due Monday, yep, Monday! That leaves us 3 days to get it done. So I think we have a pretty good one picked out and I along with the rest of my family and a couple of friends have all agreed to be "guinea pigs" for the benefit of science and in my opinion, for all mankind. It sure is gonna be tough though. He decided to "test" different chewing gums to see which holds it's flavor the longest.

So we have 5 different brands of gum all the same flavor, some sugar free, some flavor crystals, some with the hrad shell outside and even one with a liquid center. Sure is a good thing I enjoy chewing gum but I have to admit, I am somewhat disappointed with my results so far. I never really paid attention to it before, but gum really does lose flavor quick! I mean it is still chewable for a while after it loses flavor, but I don't blow bubble often and that is the best way to figure out if the gum still has flavor, I mean seriously, think about it. Most of the time when you chew gum, it isn't really touching your tongue very often. Right? You generally keep it in your teeth. When you go to blow a bubble, you stretch the gum over your tongue to create a pocket for the air to catch in. So if you do that, you can really tell if the flavor is still there. So far I have chewed Extra and it seems to hold its flavor for about 1 hour. Which to me, doesn't seem long enough. I guess we'll see how it compares to the rest before I let it bother me.

I will survive

Surgery went well yesterday and I am feeling much better today. For those of you who didn't know, I had to have surgery on my left elbow. They had to go in and move my ulnar nerve to the topside of my arm because it was slipping out of the groove that it was supposed to be in and it would get caught on the bone and "pop" off. It was causing a lot of pain and numbness in my arm and hand. I get to go back in 2 weeks and have my right elbow done. I have to admit, I was really not looking forward to any of it, and I definitely am not enjoying this now, but I will be so happy when it is all done and I can go back to normal.

I think Steve is kind of getting annoyed with me because I keep trying to do things for myself and I probably shouldn't. It has been really nice though, my friends in the Relief Society have brought dinners over for us. Eveything is so yummy and it is such a blessing to not have to worry about dinner even though I made sure to stock up on frozen pizzas and "easy dinners" Have I ever told you that Chef Boyardee is my idol?! To tell the absolute truth, I have spent the last 2 days now on the couch doing pretty much NOTHING! It has been kinda nice.

Welcome to the world

Samantha Jean joined us today at 3:40pm, weighing in at 7lbs 12ozs and 19 3/4in! She is absolutely beautiful! Proud parents are Mark and Felicia and big sister Haley. Felicia was in labor for almost 32 hrs and little Samantha just wasn't coming and her heart rate kept dropping so she had to come by c-section. Turns out the cord was wrapped around her neck but both mom and baby are doing great!!!

Lucky #13

So you may be asking what is so lucky about the number 13 right? Well, lets see...Steve's birthday is on the 13th, and oh yeah...our anniversary is on the 13th...TODAY in fact, and this is our 13th anniversary! So, that is what is so lucky about 13. Unfortunately, so many marriages don't make it that far. Too many people give up so easily, and some try their best to no avail. I must admit, it hasn't always been smooth, we have had our share of potholes and I am proud to say we have made it through them all. It is almost hard to believe that 13 years have passed, sometimes it just doesn't seem that long ago! This past May, we finally made our trip to the Temple to be sealed for time and all eternity, and suddenly all of the those "potholes" seemed so distant. I couldn't be happier!
