I Love to see the Temple, I'm going there some day

I just love that primary song!! In just 2 short weeks, we will be going to the Temple to be sealed together as a family and I can't wait, I say short weeks, but I know better than that! It has been hard enough waiting this long but the next 2 weeks will probably seem endless!!

Whole lotta shakin' goin on

As I am sure most have already heard, we had an earthquake in the Midwest yesterday morning at 4:37. Let me start by saying I am glad there were no serious injuries reported, and damage was minimal. I am amazed at the fact that I was the only one in the house that woke up to it, kinda scares me honestly, the whole house was shaking and stuff on the walls were banging, dishes clinking in the cabinets, I thought the house was gonna come crashing down around us and nobody woke up to it but me!! I am a pretty light sleeper but come on!! We didn't see any damage but there were other people around us with some foundation cracks and plaster cracks etc.

Sierra has gone from a full cast to a short cast this week. She was so happy!! She wasn't able to do ANYTHING with the full cast on. If she fell with it on it would have broken her arm between her elbow and shoulder because there was nowhere for her arm to go if she landed on it.

Telling her not to do certain things was okay at first, but then it turned out being just about everything was off limits. She wasn't able to practice with her softball team (who, by the way, had their first game this past Thursday and lost 27-2, but all but 2 people on her team are brand new to playing and the team they played has been together for 3 years, so they did do a really good job working together, but they have a long way to go)She will miss the first 4 games but it is a 15 game season, so she will have most of the season, she couldn't run or go to the clubhouse(which is just inside the edge of the woods)With all the rain, she couldn't go outside and when it wasn't raining it was too muddy and she ran the risk of falling, or maybe I was just a little too paranoid.

Steve has been laid off work since the beginning of March because of the American Axle strike. With them on strike, GM has run out of parts and cannot produce the vans that his plant supplies seats for, It is a vicious cycle. We have until the end of May for him to get back to work otherwise we lose our health insurance and the sub-pay that he has been getting. Rumor has it they won't be out that long and Sierra will be done with the Dr visits by then if they are still out. He has been able to get a lot done around the house though, and he has put in a lot of volunteer time helping out some people from church with various things. I think it has been good for him.
