It's begining to look a lot like Christmas

No snow here, but plenty of ice!! We have been dealing with freezing rain for 3 days now and we are expecting more tonight! There are trees falling down everywhere. Yesterday we woke up to no electricity and it was off for most of the day. Unfortunately with the freezing rain and sleet coming down the kids couldn't go outside, so we spent most of the day playing SkipBo and 10,000.After the power came back on we watched the last 5 minutes of the Cowboys game...kinda glad we didn't see the rest of it, I might have had to turn it off! Then we put up our tree. Yay!!

Suction cups and foreheads

I apparently forgot to teach my kids the importance of not sticking small suction cups on your face. Sierra had to learn this lesson the hard way. Lucky for her she got an extra day off of school to "recover" By the way, she is gonna kill me for posting this :)

I was tagged for the Seven Things Meme by Allyson and I can't link to her right here like she linked hers on her page(I haven't figured out how to do it, but you can find her page by my friends and family list to the right.

The rules are:

-Share seven random facts about yourself, in your blog.

-Include these rules.
-Link back to the person who tagged you.

-Tag seven more people and list their names & blogs. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged.

Fact1) I am completely disorganized. I can never find anything when I need it. I have just started some new ways of trying to get myself more organized.

2)I have serious stress issues, most of them stemming from my lack of organization(well it's either that or work)

3)I need a vacation...again! I am thinking maybe I should just lock myself away for a day or two with a couple of good books, some candles and ear plugs!

4)I am grateful for hidden blessings. I was devastated when Steve was bumped back to night shift 3 weeks ago. Saturday night we were going over our bills trying to figure out what to pay and what would have to wait(because not only did he get bumped, but his company also put an end to the overtime that he was getting)His checks had been cut by more than 50% We realized that being on nights was probably one of those "hidden" blessings because day shift isn't even getting 8 hrs every day. with him on nights he is able to stay until everything is caught up for the next day...he has been getting a couple of hours of overtime almost every night!!

5)I have developed a new love for scrap booking(thanks Allyson!) I have always been interested in it, but I didn't think I had time(or the creativity)for it. Well, this year instead of asking for practical gifts for Christmas this year (last year I got new dish towels, and various other kitchen gadgets that I needed)I asked for scrap booking supplies. I've been buying a few things here and there since vacation and am getting ready to put some pages together.

6)I need to post more often. I just realized it has been a month since my last post, which is really bad because I check Allyson's page every day for something new. I should put it on my list of things to do(Part of my new organization...tips from fly lady http://flylady.net/ )

7)I still don't have my tree up yet, but my neighborhood is starting to look like the Griswold's. I think every time I come home from work, someone is adding to their displays. I have to admit, I need more lights up, our house used to be the most decorated in the neighborhood, but now it is looking a little sad. It is supposed to snow here over the next couple days, OK there is a chance for snow which just means we won't get anything measurable, but it will be just enough to make the drive to work a pain in the rear!

*8) OK, I know it was only supposed to be seven, but I figured since I don't have anyone to tag, I would throw in an extra fact, I need to go to bed, my bedtime seems to get later and later every night. I think my nerves have started to notice the lack of sleep, because I have been "uber moody" as my kids would say. Not sure where they heard that, I guess probably from school, or it could be they just made it up, because I think they are all more creative than I am! :)
