Just call me Betty...
Crocker that is. I have been cooking and baking and loving every bit of it. I love to cook but I usually don't have time or energy after work. Sometimes I wish I was a stay at home mom again...but then again, I don't remember having all that much time for myself then either. We had the missionaries over for dinner again tonight, we have made this an almost weekly thing. It has given me a reason to make myself cook something other than just what caters to my picky eaters. We also started a chore list (thanks to Allyson) The kids loved the way everything was laid out clearly and posted on the fridge, so last night we made our chore lists and posted them on our fridge, so far everything has been checked off. We'll se how long it lasts.

Success!!!
3 hours ago I started thinking *I need to start thinking about dinner* half hour later, my loving husband called me and asked if I could fix enough for some friends of ours and be ready to eat when he got home....panic immediately set in. I had 1 hour and I had nothing--I was just gonna fix some chicken helper. I can't feed guests chicken helper...I only had 2 boxes and it was a kind we hadn't even tried yet. I went scrounging through the deep freeze and pulled out some steaks from his deer last season, ran them upstairs and started to thaw them, as they thawed I ran out to the garden and picked a couple zuchinnis and cucumbers. Within a few minutes I had them sliced and the cucumbers salted and chilling, and the zuchinni was breaded and ready for the fryer. Fruit salad came next and then the steaks. Cookies too...I managed to have a feast prepared and the table set as they walked through the door. Everyone had plenty to eat, and the whole time, everyone was talking about how good it was!!! Now, everyone is gone and I get to sit back and relax...I think I earned it

My kids are so grown up...
Well late last night we found out that our babysitter couldn't watch the kids today. We have let them stay home for an hour or two, here and there, but never all day. We decided to give it a go today, and I must admit, I was thoroughly impressed! Not that it really surprised me, they usually are pretty well behaved.I called them on my first break and they had just finished putting the breakfast dishes in the sink, at lunch I called and they had just fixed food and were getting ready to sit down to eat. I was really happy to find out that their meals included fruit and milk. When I got home, the dishwasher had been emptied, the table was cleared and there were no messes anywhere (unless you count the stack of books that Sierra read to the boys and left them sitting on the table)!!!! I might just have to save myself the 30 bucks a day and let them stay home more often :)

It happened!
Steve got a new church calling. I think he is a little nervous about it, but I am sure he will do great!! He has been called to be the Young Men's Secretary, he is also going to be acting as the Scout Committee Chair.
It has been a while
I just realized it has been almost been 2 months since my last post. I have really been slacking, but then again, I am really not very creative and my life is really not very interesting. (With the exception of our FANTASTIC family vacation!!!!!!) There isn't much need for me to explain all about it, since everyone around here is already tired of hearing me talk about it, and the only other people that read this were with us...see Allyson's blog for more vivid details! LOL We had the missionaries over for dinner last night, one is from Hurricane, Ut and the other from Brigham City...we had plenty to talk about, and Steve was very curious to hear about life in Brigham City, as was I
